Essential for optimum combustion.
Environmentally sound technology for natural heating
Fossil fuels are becoming increasingly expensive, and a reversal of this trend is unlikely in the short term, which is one reason for the growing interest in solid fuels. While arguments in favour of traditional 'fireplaces' have hitherto been chiefly romantic in nature, today's aspects of economy, the environment and modern technology also make this an attractive alternative. It is a step 'back to the future', combining the comfort of the modern age with the traditional cosiness of a warming, living flame. The use of the automatic UNIVERSAL stove controller from Kutzner + Weber will optimise the combustion of manually fuelled fireplaces, thereby increasing the efficiency of the stove. This means that with the same amount of wood, heat can be generated for longer with a controller and the heating power of the wood can be better utilised, while reducing emissions at the same time. Operational reliability is also significantly improved.
Compatible with all makes
The UNIVERSAL stove controller can be connected to basically any hand-fed solid fuel appliance, such as tiled stove insets, free-standing stoves or fireplace stoves. The controller's sensor measures the flow velocity and the temperature in the flue pipe and is therefore independent of the type of use, providing positive, dependable regulation. A new type of sensor with innovative measuring technology registers the actual operating situation and sends this information to the processor inside the control unit. The processor then compares this data with the optimum conditions stored in its memory. If the measured values deviate from the ideal values, the processor sends commands to the connected components to achieve the desired result. The effects of the command are checked up to twelve times a minute in order to get the most out of the wood fuel throughout the entire combustion period.
Your one-stop shop!
The UNIVERSAL stove controller is the only one that communicates with all connectable components, creating the best possible conditions for optimum combustion. We are your 'one-stop shop' for all the components you will need, so you achieve safety, comfort and ideal combustion with a single device. There is no need for additional safety devices when operating a stove, e.g. for the ventilation of occupied areas.
The UNIVERSAL stove controller is adaptable
A smart processor control uses a 4-line control display to facilitate easy adjustment of the fireplace or tiled stove to the different configurations of the controller. Existing building bus systems can communicate easily with the controller via an RS485 interface.
Use with balanced room ventilation
We particularly recommend the use of the controller in passive energy houses whose thick building envelope (according to the German Ordinance on energy saving in buildings) can result in a negative pressure which affects the draft in the flue. The UNIVERSAL stove controller uses a flow sensor to counteract this effect and prevent the reverse flow of harmful flue gas into occupied areas. This eliminates the need for an additional negative pressure sensor. Depending on the operating situation, a smoke sucker can be turned on or the fume hood or balanced ventilation system can be turned off. In the event of a malfunction, the control display outputs an optical and acoustic warning message. Trouble-free operation of the fireplace or tiled stove is guaranteed, even in a power failure!
How the UNIVERSAL stove controller works
The aim is to achieve optimum combustion throughout the combustion period. From lighting the fire to maintaining a steady heat, the Kutzner + Weber stove controller controls all the connected components so that ideal conditions prevail in the appliance whatever the operating status at the time. The controller can also automatically detect which particular burning phase the appliance is in, and regulates it accordingly, or determines the optimum time to add more fuel.
The control display of the UNIVERSAL stove controller
The control display tells you about the stove's combustion performance so you can make basic settings such as the stove type. The complete system is designed to make operator errors impossible.
